Advice to Opportunity Seekers

A friend of mine has struggled to find his next opportunity and asked for advice. Here it is:

1. Get super clear on what you want. If you can’t figure out what you want, write a list of what you don’t want, then turn those “don’t wants” into wants.

2. Spend time with people who love what they do and have career satisfaction. If you can’t find someone around you, turn to YouTube and look for social media groups. 

3. Every morning, work on believing that you deserve to get paid for making a contribution.

4. Study things you love and learn how to get better at doing them. 

5. Give. If nothing is moving, give something to someone, volunteer or test a new theory out, you want to feel good about it. 

Number one and two are key, but if you can’t believe #3, why would anyone else?
